Allows current measurement on any 2- or 3-wire power cord. View larger Plug in between receptacle and power chord to measure current draw with a clamp meter.View larger Rugged Construction The Amprobe ELS2A AC Line Splitter allows current measurement on any 2- or 3-wire power cord. Simply plug in the line splitter between the receptacle and the power cord plug to measure current draw with a clamp meter. It has dual measurement loops; The 1X loop is used for direct readings, and the 10X multiplier loop that multiplies signal 10 times to allow low-current measurements with improved accuracy. The ELS2A has built-in voltage measurement jacks to check for voltage and is rated for 120V and 15A. How it Works Due to the electromagnetic field cancellation effect, clamp meters are unable to show the proper readings when measuring current on power cords when clamped around hot and neutral wires at the same time. This wire splitter separates hot and neutral wires allowing the clamp to properly measure current. Applications The ELS2A AC Line Splitter allows current draw measurement of equipment plugged into an outlet with standard 2- or 3- wire power cords. Use voltage jacks to measure voltage drop when connected equipment is running. Per National Electrical Code, voltage drop cannot exceed 6%. For small appliances that draw low current, use the 10X multiplier loop to extend the measuring capabilities of your clamp meter and provide more accurate measurements. Product Features Allows current measurement on any 2- or 3-wire power cord 1X loop for direct readings, and 10X loop for low-current measurements Built-in voltage measurement jacks to check for voltage. Rated for 120V and 15A
