The evening was one of rare collaboration between music, movement and even audience. There were times when the dazzling virtuosity of Lang Lang, which is as prodigious as touted, took your breath away with the nuanced shading of the sheer technical facility, which seems quite out of this world. He and the dancers held us spellbound and breathless. - HOUSTON PRESSIn November 2013, Lang Lang and the internationally acclaimed choreographer Stanton Welch teamed up to explore a new collaboration by combining a live piano recital with a live ballet performance. The result is The Chopin Dance Project. The performances took place at the renowned Theatre des Champs Elysees in Paris, France, over four evenings with sixteen dancers from the Houston Ballet, one of the largest and most prestigious ballet companies in the U.S. Stanton Welch s choreography is build upon a selection of piano music by Chopin, chosen by Lang Lang for its visual nature and dance potential. The eighty-five-minute film captures the complete performance and offers an opportunity to relive an unforgettable live experience.TOURING THE U.S. IN 2015Tracklist:FRÉDÉRIC CHOPIN 1 Ballade No.1 in G minor op. 232 Etude No. 7 in C-sharp minor op. 253 Ballade No. 2 in F major op. 384 Ballade No. 4 in F minor op. 525 Waltz No. 1 in E-flat major op. 18 "Grande Valse brillante" 6 Nocturne No. 1 in F major op. 157 Waltz No. 19 in A minor op. posth.8 Andante spianato op. 229 Etude No. 3 in E major opus 10 «Tristesse»10 Nocturne No. 2 in E-flat major op. 5511 Grande Polonaise brillante in E-flat major op. 2212 Nocturne in C-sharp minor, op. posth.
