The Godey’s Lady’s Book was a popular monthly magazine published from 1830 to 1898. The pages were filled with poems, stories, fashion patterns, and rules of etiquette. The skirts in this era were designed to be a perfect circle. They kept growing wider until it became difficult for the ladies to pass through doorways or get into carriages. To keep these gowns outwards, there was a complex series of crinoline hoops and supports underneath. Several maidservants needed to climb on stools to lower these extravagant gowns on the lady. - Each issue included hand-colored fashion plates. These delightful images such as "Bridal Finery," "Ladies in Waiting," and "Children's Fashions," awaken your nostalgia. Our creative team took these illustrations from the original magazines and meticulously restored them to their original splendor. - With just the click of a mouse, add Godey's Lady's Fashion motifs to treasured scrapbook pages, rubberstamping, paper crafts, artist trading cards, gift tags, cards, and to lovingly handmade quilts. Use for frames, stationery, décor, decoupage, totes, fashions, etc. Create historic posters, newsletters, and use them for handmade projects to sell. And yes, use them on your website!
