Every good DH crash winds up in complete chaos. The bike is doing mid-air flips, limbs are flying, and body armor is being tested to the limit. Inevitably you find injuries hours later that you were completely unaware of. In a serious crash situation, a little extra coverage can go a long way. The Troy Lee Designs EG 5550 Elbow/Forearm Guard gives you that little bit of extra coverage so that when you get home after riding and accidentally bang your arm into the counter, you don't scream and pass out. TLD designed the EG 5550 Elbow/Forearm Guard with comfort as the very top priority. Troy Lee's X-FIT system uses a wraparound sleeve to keep the pad in place. Unlike bulky straps, this sleeve moves with the body for a natural feel. The main body is constructed primarily of stretch mesh in places that don't see a whole lot of impact and a rugged woven Aramid material in high-abrasion areas. The stretch mesh fabric allows air to flow freely through the pad to keep you dry and cool, and also keeps the weight down. The EG 5550 also incorporates Vent-Trak channels that move air over the skin to reduce heat and perspiration. The brunt of most impacts is taken by the internal elbow cap that is designed to stay close to your elbow for a natural feel and comfortable flex. Troy Lee included an additional forearm guard to protect your arm between the glove and the elbow pad. Surrounding the elbow and forearm pads is TLD's Strata foam, which moves naturally with the body while it protects so it doesn't feel like it's binding. Inside, silicone grippers keep the sleeve in place so it doesn't slide around uncomfortably while you ride. The Troy Lee Designs EG 5550 Elbow/Forearm Guard comes in Black and is available in sizes XS, S, M, and L.
