The yohimbe "herb" is actually the inner bark of a tree, the Yohimbe. This evergreen is native to West Africa and has been utilized for several centuries in folk use. It was originally used as an aphrodisiac by the Pygmies and Bushmen. This became its renowned use, while also traditionally used for fever, coughs, immune system support, weight loss, and increase athletic performance. In fact, the indigenous warriors used yohimbe as a powerful stimulant and would drink concoctions made with the herb in preparation for battle.
